Reflexology is a gentle complementary therapy based on the theory that different parts of the foot (or hand) correspond with different parts of the body. Congestion in specific parts of the foot is mirrored in the corresponding part of the body. The gentle massaging of specific points on the feet helps the body to rebalance naturally.
I do not use reflexology to diagnose or prescribe. I invoke Reiki energy at the beginning and end of a session to ‘supercharge’ your healing.
Clients usually feel extremely relaxed after a treatment, with an increased sense of wellbeing and reduced stress and tension. They nearly always tell me what a great night’s sleep they had following a treatment. More specifically clients have noticed an improvement in digestion, decreased PMS, lighter periods and relief from sinusitis.
Pregnant ladies respond particularly well to reflexology, as it helps to improve their sense of wellbeing and gives relief from minor aches and pains. I have found reflexology to be great preparation for birth.
A real treat is a yoga class followed by a reflexology treatment. This leaves the body and mind feeling refreshed, energised and deeply relaxed.
I trained professionally in reflexology at the Maureen Burgess School of Reflexology in 1995. I completed Reiki Level 1 and 2 training in 1994 and 1995.
My treatment lasts approximately one hour (a little longer for your first session) and costs £75.
